Emmanuel AME Church Named Recipient of the 2021 DSS Social Services Volunteer Service Award

Each year The Triangle Nonprofit & Volunteer Leadership Center  recognizes organizations that have been instrumental to the success of the Department of Social Services Programs.

"I’m pleased and honored to inform you that Emmanuel AME Church has been named the recipient of the 2021 DSS Social Services Volunteer Service Award for the Thanksgiving Dinner Program!!!  You will be honored for being such a blessing to our community. I am still sharing the testimony of how God sent us a ram in the bush when He sent you to us, how you lead the efforts for Emmanuel AME to provide Thanksgiving meals to 140 families.  Emmanuel AME will be recognized during the Virtual Governor’s Volunteer & the Key Volunteer of the Year Virtual Event in May."

Our Response to COVID-19 Coronavirus

Since the global awareness of COVID-19, Emmanuel A.M.E. Church has adhered to recommendations and guidelines from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Governor of North Carolina, Mr. Roy Cooper, and the A.M.E. Second Episcopal District Servant Bishop, Reverend James L. Davis.  As the spread continued to increase, Emmanuel closed its physical doors, but opened its virtual doors.  Our COVID-19 Readiness Response Team is responsible for making sure essential workers, who make the virtual worship possible, and invited guests are safe by conducting  temperature checks, requiring the wearing of masks, social distancing enforcement, frequent use of hand sanitizer, and the sanitization of the sanctuary on a regular basis.
